Back from the Romance Writers of Australia Conference

Wandering chilly Melbourne, I enjoyed hopping on and off trams. An excellent way to get around - wish Sydney still had them. The conference was great met a lot of  authors who are always interesting, and I learned some unusual skills helpful to writing fiction. Like how to choke someone, and handle a knife, demonstrated on a leg of lamb. Also writing in the male pov. and the differences between men and women presented amusingly with excerpts from the English sitcom, Coupling.Susan Elizabeth Phillips says '"Let your male characters act like men instead of women in men's bodies." Men talk about what they do. Women talk about how they feel.'
A US Federal agent's talk and the life and works of Georgette Heyer, who so influences my work, is added to my unusual reference library.

hey Maggi - pass on your knowledge - how do I choke someone? (grin) I might need it in my next book!

I'll add a picture, Jen and you can put it in your own words. The black-belt Judo expert made it all look so easy.

It does = but maybe not so easy for a woman to choke a six foot bloke!
