Returning home, the Duke of Vale stumbles upon a woman unconscious in the road. He takes her to his ancestral home where the physician cares for her only to discover she has lost her memory. Calling her Viola, the Duke discovers her classical education and her many talents. The only thing Viola knows is that she has fallen in love with the Duke. But he is destined to marry the woman of his parents choosing. As the walls continue to close around her Viola must fight for what she wants or she could lose it all, including her life.
What an enchanting story. Right away my attention was caught, hook, line and sinker. Viola’s plight is sure to draw sympathy from the readers while her inner strength would inspire even the most cynical person. Hugh, the Duke, is a strong, responsible man who takes his title and his responsibilities very seriously. When he stumbles upon an unknown woman in the middle of a deserted road, he takes her to his home to care for and she becomes part of his responsibilities. Both characters are strong individuals who can handle themselves when they find their backs to the wall.
Lots of misunderstandings between Hugh and Viola are sure to keep the reader on the edge of her seat. I never knew what was going to happen next. With Viola’s memory missing, I was constantly wondering who she really is and what is waiting for her back home. With so much unknown about her, Viola herself is a mystery. A mystery that will keep the reader anxiously awaiting what will happen on the next page.
If you are looking for a book that is full or romance but light on the sex scenes, this is a book you will enjoy. The chemistry between Hugh and Viola is intense and grows stronger as their feelings for each other grow. Plain and simple, this is one sweet romance full of adventure and mystery that shouldn’t be missed.
