This is beautiful! How big is it? I wonder if the ring is big enough to slide over a wrist or if it attached to something else. Just gorgeous!

Hi Donna, I don't have the answers to your questions but I'm researching dance cards and will do a blog on them today.

The ring was so that the young lady could carry it suspended from her finger while dancing, as ballgowns didn't always have pockets. Also, not all of these were necessarily dance cards--they were also known as aides memoires and were carried in one's reticule as a re-usable notepad. Some of the ones in my colection have shopping lists on them. :)
